General
I going to take a vacation soon and I'm going to jump in my vehicle and take a drive to pine ridge and some other places down south. Why do Belizeans think when deh have wa lee money and vacation that mean deh hafu go da America. There is so much stuff here in belize to see that a know the majority of belizeans haven't seen. Why don't we all just vacation here in belize it is cheaper by far. People from di states and europe come way over here to see things that are only hours away from you.

Ummm....
Becuase ive already seen it all.
But i do agree of the attitude of people scrambling to go "da foreign" when we do have a beautiful country.
Ive been travelling throughout Belize since i was a kid and i still visit other places during the year, but come extended vacation time, I need to get away.....new culture different food, and no not MCKY D'S...Mexico, Central America.
Its good to experience other cultures.

I think it is a great shame that many foreigners get to see more of our country in a few days than most of us do in a lifetime. Furthermore, it is extremely embarassing when a tourist asks a local for information on an attraction that he himself has never seen. I am quite ashamed that I have never been further south than Placencia, never been to Xunantunich, the Blue Hole Atoll, or any caye other than San Pedro, Goff's Caye, and Caye Caulker. Come on Belizeans, let's explore our country's natural beauty and keep those dollars at home!
