First- mp3's are a completely different format, your stereo has to be able to specifically read mp3's
second its possible your copied cd has several songs as one big mix...in other words they are one big song but with a mix of different songs, hence the player wont be able to tell the difference between one song or the other.
there is no way to bypass that, you have to fwd until you reach the song you want, normally bootleg cds from the downtown stores all have individual songs, unless you buy a mix then sometimes its just one really big file with several songs in it...

wouldn't they also be able to read MP3s or is it a different type of system needed? The only annoying thing about playing copied cds in a vehicle cd player is that you can't skip forward past a certain number song somewhere around the middle of the cd. After that the cd just freezes up. So basically if you want to listen to the last track on the cd you just have to let the whole thing play out. Why does that happen?? Another of my pet peeves- can you explain P and is there any way to remedy this other than not buying copied cds?
