Hey who could we have some serious coversation about our tourist situation on the Islads,since the UDP took over for 2 quaters reporting in statisticks on tourist arrivals have been going down and no word or solution to help the situation from our no good minister of tourisim, since we elected them to improve the situation we going down the drain or get some one in the rulling party who can do a good job in tha ministry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...thing, i believe that armaG has a point or TWO which eclypses d rootCAUSES of d PROB...It is just WAY 2 XPNSIV 2 do business in Bze period!!!...AND d cornerstone of d STRATEGIC response should b 2 DEV a competitiveness STRATEGY 2 ensure that d industry remains VIABLE in bze...As we speak 4 xmpl, PPL r lv in droves 2 catch d next PLANE in CANCUN 2 beat d high COST of departures from PSW Goldson Int'l...It obviously would NOT take a genious 2 understand that it would make better business SENSE all around 2 have these PPL leaving from our shores as oppose 2 MEX.
The real QUESTn then becomes Y is it that we r NOT doing this???...Is it an issue of capacity? or a lack of political will & commitment?...or perhaps a LACK of VISION???

in the tourism market is to make it cheaper to get to Belize and also these hotels in Belize are charging way too much for their piece of crap hotel rooms, and that is not their fault entirely because the cost of running a business in Belize is pretty staggering.
For example, Cahal Pech, the rooms there i compare to a backpack hostel type room, and you are paying $79US plus tax to stay there. That room is worth maybe $30 or $40US. Jump right across the border and you get 3 or 4 star hotels for the same price or cheaper.
Belize is beautiful but we are too damn expensive to get to and then stay and you don't really get what you pay for.
Be careful what you wish for.
