This is how our country is being protrayed...Sad but true!!

I came accross this article and had to post it on here since it highlights many of the wrong things happening in our country. I am not sure whether this story are fabricated or whether it is true. But I can remember psych 101(study skills) if a great portion of a statement is true then you can comfortably assume that the entire statement is True and from my memory and experience back I beleive the story bears some credibility. I am a Belizean and I am truly annoyed when people try to portray as illiterate/ignorant third world people. But in some instance it is our own people who provides the platform for which these vile and indespicable image of us as Belizeans, are created. The issues this article which most bothered me are the following.
- The cops seems to be very unprofessional to question a child without the presence of their parents.
- Seems like our technology is so outdated that as soon as we get some rain the phone service goes
- The country is so poor that our government can nto afford to provide adequate health service hence the retirees from the US have to go out there to do it.
This is, after so many millions of dollars have been stolen from the Belizean (i.e. Social Security, DFC and from our economy over all) by this decitful, selfish and arrogant governemt. Belizeans its time for us to wake up and let the world know that we are not as backwards as they think. However these changes starts from home. We need to educate ourselve on the issues and stand up for our rights regardless of what party is in power.
Well that's my two cents and hopefull you guys will enjoy reading this article as much as I did and will really ponder on the meesage being sent to the international community about our beloved, Belize.

Both criminal injustice systems suck.
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, pee in it, and serve it to the people that piss you off. And supa-fly koncas has some fries if you want some! (No ideal what he might have done with them though :)

that justice is fair in America? Is she fucking kidding? Did she talk to the Belizean lady that was roughed up and jailed because the embassy fucked-up concerning her Visa? Does she hear about the predators who walked because the American justice system no longer uses common fucking sense? Now they want to come here and think they can walk too? Does she remember Rodney King?Fuck them. They don't get special treatment from the cops here. The cops beat and electrocutes everyone here to get to the truth. Locals and foreigners alike. The criminals in the states can laugh at the cops but tell them to laugh at ours.
And talk about our jails. Well, its a white man who owns it now. One of their own. So he's the one giving shit bucket to the prisoners.
Good or bad....just bring it.

FenP - Definitely agree with you on that one.....Things just so messed up in Belize. Indeed it is an old article but nonetheless its out there for the world to see and develop an image of us as a people. I agree that the policing system in Belize is different that many other place but its very important the cops understand how to deal with people and re-think their investigational tactics. People would be far mor forthcoming if they were treated with dignity. Nonetheless, the issue here is that people think that can go to Belize and comport themselve in any manner because they are from a Develop country. That is not so. Belizean are just as smart and as achieved as they are. The difference is that we are economically inferior to them hence our achievements comes at twice the price of theirs.
