taking bets
By now I suppose most of you have noticed the construction of the rotary monument on the first small roundabout by Belize Mills on the Northern Highway. What I don't understand is why the hell anyone would put a monument in a spot where there is an accident practically every weekend! How many times has the boatyard fence been smashed into and the roundabout barrier been broken down??! I do not foresee a bright future for the monument which I am sure cost a considerable amount of time and money to construct; they have been working on it every night for a couple of weeks now. I am predicting that by next weekend that monument is gonna be fucked up- ok I will say by next Saturday to be excact. Anybody want to make a wager? I will buy a beer (or coke if you don't drink) for the person who makes the closest bet!
second thoughts
as I was driving past the monument through lunch it hit me- it kinda looks like a giant corkscrew from a distance and that I can definately tolerate- they should construct a giant bottle to go beside it- preferably with some reebean in it!
"It pays 2 b fly!"

Take 2 and call me in the morning...
i agree on both accounts
when the construction had originally commenced I was happy as I assumed it was to install some much needed reflectors on that roundabout which I too have narrowly avoided on many a night. Instead of wasting money on pointless monuments (don't get me started on that simple rass visible hand), how about investing that money in some much needed infrastructural projects to make that stretch of the Northern Highway a lot safer for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists alike? Look at the tragic accident which took the life of the elderly lady on her way to church. How easily that could be avoided if proper lighting had been installed. As a Belama resident, I traverse the area everyday and have witnessed many accidents, and have narrowly avoided many myself. The road, for one is in deplorable condition, huge potholes line the road causing drivers to often swerve into the path of oncoming vehicles so as to avoid them. Nothing has been done to improve the condition of the road save for some scanty patch work. The left hand stretch of road on the stetch between United Services and Roses is pitch dark for the most part and motorists making the left turn by United Services often do not see pedestrians or cyclists until they are right in front of them. Many drivers fail to realize that even though they are technically driving on a major highway, they are still traversing a residential neighborhood and should thus impliment the same amount of caution that they would apply while driving through the city streets. Too many motorists seem to utilize the area as a race track- speeding past buses (yes, they are a pain in the ass especially when they stop in the middle of the road, but we must still excercise patience) and vehicles making a left turn either by United Services or Roses. A few suggestions that I have for improving the overall safety are the installation of speed bumps at the very least but the most effective remedy would be to install a median as is untilized on the Princess Margaret Drive/St Thomas Street junction, in this way turning traffic would have a side lane in which to turn rather than having to literally pull into the middle of the road and into the path of oncoming traffic while the traffic behind overtakes on gravel shoulder of the road on the right (if you are lucky that is- some idiots still try to overtake on the left!) Anyway, that's my two cents. Dead by Dawn by all means feel free to fuck up the monument- but I said one beer not a case!
"It pays 2 b fly!"
the other side..
What will happen is that when someone runs straight through the roundabout someones gonna die....cause it wont be some reflectors but some big ass iron columns.
CORN: THE GREAT
those mutha fuckas d spend mo
those mutha fuckas d spend money on a monument when they should use it to put some reflectors so that drivers can see the round about at night.
