I went to customs to take out my vehicle and had it valued at a nice low price and i was ready to pay the duty when I was hit with one of the most rediculous thing ever. The freight to send the car from miami was 800US. The fuckers now add the freight to the value of the vehicle and charge you duty on it. That right the assholes are charging duty on freight cost now.

i dunno how unu mi done pay this b4, customs said its a new thing that has been implimented and only a couple of months ago. and i no think 200 is considered a couple months ago. And it does sound scurvy cause they add the cost of shipping the vehicle to value of the car they estimate, and then charge the duty. So if your car(hypothetically speaking) costs 1.00, and is valued by customs as indeed a dollar, they will still add the shipping cost which is a couple hundred dollars, and then the duty percentage. So you end up paying a couple hundred dollars duty on a car thats worth 1.00

from way back, the shipping cost is added to the cost of the vechile and then duty is charge on the combined total. its the system.

This has always been in place, I shipped a vehicle in 2000 and had to pay duty on the freight; although back then it was 600.00 u.s. to ship.

because I have shipped a vehicle every year for the last 4 years and this is the first time I ever had to pay this shit. I asked the customs people about it and the guy said that this has only been this way since a couple months.
