The latest request for development in our country is on Stake Bank which is an island 3-4 miles away from Belize City. An EIA has been sent to the national environmental appraisal committee (NEAC) for a development project on this mangroved island by the previous owner of the tourist village in Belize City. On this caye he is planning to build an even bigger and better area for the cruiseship tourist where there will be 4 birthing docks to accomodate 4 crusieships. The caye will have hotels, resorts, water activities, casino and more. this will be a major development but my concern is the socioeconomic and environmental impact this large scale development will have.
Because this development will be a few miles away from Belize that means that we on the mainland will be getting the shorter end of the stick. only 1/4 of the number of visitors traveling my cruiseship will actually reach the mainland. And we all know that we won't be able to compete with that type of development. The people that have invested a large amount of time and money to offer different levels of activities for tourist will lose out as the number of visitors will be reduced so that means we all lose out. Then there is the environmental issue whereby all the mangroves on this caye will be cleared and massive dredging wil take place, in fact it is already happening and the project hasn't been approved as yet. Then the size of the caye will be doubled and where will this material for inlargement come from, our sea of course. This type of activity will increase the level of sea floor disturbance, dredging will eliminate a large array of animals that rely on the mangrove ecosystem to survive creating an ecological inbalance and a number of other environmental problems.
i'm bringing up this issue cause i am sure that a number of people out here had no idea this type of project is being considered because the developers feel that the BElizean people don't have a right to know. As a part of the EIA process in our country the developer is obligated by law to have a minimum of 3 public hearings or public consultation so i'm bringing it to your attetntion so that you do something about it.

Yes, you read it right. Although it is not my theory, I will do my best to explain it. Again, it is a matter of logic.

Compare primates and humans:

Sexual behavior:
1. chimpanzee: extremely promiscuous
2. human: in between
3. gorilla and orangutan: very faithful

Penis size (from largest to smallest):
1. human: longest and thickest penis (see page 33, Average Penis Size)
2. chimpanzee: in between
3. gorilla and orangutan: smallest (about an inch and a half when erected!)

Testicle size (from largest to smallest):
1. chimpanzee: largest
2. human: in between
3. gorilla and orangutan: smallest
Female gorillas are the most faithful. This means that when a male gorilla has intercourse with a female, his sperm will never have competition from other males' sperm. It has all the time and chance to impregnate the female. No sperm competition means that even a small drop of semen will assure that that particular male will be the father of the offspring. That is why gorillas' testicles are extremely small.

In contrast, female chimpanzees are extremely promiscuous. At any given time, the female will have the sperm from at least two or three males inside her vagina. For a male to be sure he is the father he will have to make sure that it is his sperm that will impregnate her. How can he improve his chances?

The fact that gorillas and orangutans have small testicles and small penises, proves that having big genitals is only an advantage under conditions of rampant female promiscuity (as is the case with humans and chimps.) Longer penises deliver the sperm more efficiently in a vagina that already contains sperm from various other males.

Although chimpanzees are even more promiscuous than humans, the penis of the male chimp is only half the size than the penis of a man. This shows that especially human females prefer longer and bigger penises.

This makes sense because the concept of pleasure is far more evolved among humans than among other primates. Since a big penis causes more pleasure (see page 6), the man with the biggest penis will have the most chance to be allowed to impregnate the woman.

Sexual selection is also responsible for men's relatively large testicles. Men's testicles are bigger than the gorillas', a species where the females are monogamous. If a man has bigger testicles he can produce more voluminous and more frequent ejaculations, a necessary ingredient to impregnate a female that has been mating with males before.

The bigger the semen volume and quantity he delivers, the more chance his sperm will win the race among all the other ones. This is the reason why women instinctively prefer men who can deliver forceful and large amounts of semen (see page 44, Women Care About Testicle Size and Ejaculation)

According to statements made by the media personality on “Jam Session”, which airs weekly on LOVE Television Friday nights, a chosen few nightclubs, (those that utilize the services of Black Hawk Security Service, which is owned by unregistered, disgraced City Councilor Mark King), are allowed to remain open past the legal opening hours. DJ Special, who is a longtime disc jockey and club promoter, expressed displeasure over this latest practice.
He mused: “I close at three when the law says I should close. They make money off me because my patrons then leave and go to their clubs.” Besides being patently unjust, this is dangerous to say the least because by then most patrons have had their more than a couple of drinks and are less in control of their inhibitions.

The history of the “Mayoress’” conquests is well recorded in the sad memories of a number of wives and girlfriends who have been dropped by their canoodling partners when the “Mayoress” swooped in. This latest indiscretion is one in a well-populated line, and once again, the grist of our social discourse is that it is the primary cause for the break up of yet another home.

Many voters won’t appreciate the irony that while they thought that the “Mayoress” was a “fresh” face on the political scene when she campaigned for the office, they’re now finding out that she is indeed “fresh” and “facey”, but this is no laughing matter.
Disc jockeys and other entertainment personalities are the “Pied Pipers” of our society, and in the past their passions have provoked violence among their supporters both here and in other Caribbean societies. The “Mayoress” and her “DJ$” have ardently courted a coterie of youthful supporters, and it is no stretch to see the dangerous ground to which this could lead.
The smitten “Mayoress” has been compromised in a myriad ways, and her advisors, her councilors, her party leadership, need to step up, for her sake and ours, before the specter of violence raises its ugly head. Make no mistake – this is a volatile mix of the most explosive ingredients – love, passion, sex, politics, dancehall/nightclub and music entertainment and entertainers, big egos – need we say more? There are already too many stories like this one, with the most tragic of endings, in the recent annals of our beloved city.

I'm sick and tired of being told to participate in the political process when neither of the major parties are doing anything to include youths in the decision making process when it comes to affairs that affects us primarily. Youth for the furture has been doing some work...but they are not proactive enough for me. They also seem to be more socially oriented and I wanna be a part of a group that will train and encourge young people to take on the mindset of a politician much like BYM use to do back in the day. If UDP or PUP doesn't step it up, they can kiss my vote and many more goodbye. We have been excluded for too long. It's high time something that will put us in the forefront gets done.
