7News was doing an investigation on the Internet for Schools Program and had compiled a story. see their site!
Basically, the program was to provide Internet access to schools in the country by Intelco for FREE. Firstly, nothing in Belize comes free, somebody has to pay for it. The schools didn't pay for it, so the schools say its free. However, we the taxpayers were paying for it, through GOB arrangements with Intelco, this is according to the Ministry's point man on information technology Mustafa Toure.
I'm not sure about him being a point man on information technology, becuase he surely didn't have his stats correct when interviewed by 7News. He made reference, in options to provide internet to schools without Intelco or BTL being involved. Well, Mr Toure, your only other option (not options) is getting a satellite connection to the internet. Other than that, your ONLY other option is BTL, why? becuase all other providers get their Interent from BTL (BTL being the only landing partner for the ARCOS). Also, Intelco is still getting Internet from BTL. You want to be independent of BTL, your only option is Satellite. I'm not sure what options you're looking at.
Secondly, how dumb can you be? When ask about if Internet will be returned to the classrooms, Mr. Toure Said this, "Oh definitely. In fact internet is already there. Its just that because Intelco has cut off a certain switch, they can no longer get the internet..." If intelco had turned off a certain switch, how can internet be there? THERE IS NO INTERNET, dumbo!

It sounds like our friend Toure went to the same school where Ralph learned economics! Hey, if Ralph can claim to be a "team player", Toure can believe that the internet is somehow embedded in the computer's CPU!
