Amen, Amen, Amen...

...The funny thing 'bout HURRICANE MUSA is that there are those who seem to NOT be able to picture a BELIZE without HIM...or at least the PUP's at the helm of governance...MATHEMATICALLY we would describe this MODEL as one with ZERO DEGREES OF FREEDOM...which when U come to think of IT is more than a little discomfiting, since MUSA's idea of paradise is a ONE PARTY STATE not unlike that of U KNOW WHO with ZERO DEGREES OF TOLERANCE for any OPPOSITION or at least ALTERNATE view or views!!!...This disturbing state of affairs came to fore sadly last week when the apparently first ever CRY ME A RIVER "Caller" on the WUB went into a paroxysm of SOBs punctuated intermittently by verbal injections that amounted to; "We have to be thankful to the PUP's for all that they have done...forget the concept of wrong and right...and morality...and illegality...and impropriety...and the unconscionable...because THEY have done things...they have built schools...and hospitals and bridges (HELLO LUKE!)...and Mahogany Heights (FUCK!!!)...All that the other side (this ostensibley being the UDP's) has been doing is to tear down the Government/PUP's...WHY can't U forget about bloated contracts...and theft...and graft...and the rape of public assets...and come to HELL with us...the PUP's with your mouth shut...and/or your head in the sand...not unlike the proverbial ostrich???!!!??"

The most disturbing aspect of this embarrasingly TEARFUL TIRADE was not the articulation of ideas, as much as the BROOK from which the verbal cascade seem to be googling from...The voice sounded disturbingly like WINSTON MICHAEL of WASA fame!!!

I was struck out of my wits because Winston did not strike me as a PARTY HOCK, but as an independent minded person given over to rational thought which even if he was not a professed UDP made him the ENEMY in the sight of the PUP's...This was consistent with what I saw and what I thought I knew about Winston the last time my NEURAL radar were pointed in his direction...As far as I could remember HE was on the FINNEGAN Channel 7 Show with SEDI and Sharon Pitts...But enough about Winston the person, and more about the ideas espoused, especially given the fact that I hope I was wrong about the voice.

What gets me about these PUP's is the ASSERTION and ASSUMPTION that U and I and really JOHN PUBLIC at large cannot WALK and CHEW GUM at the same time!!!...If LUCAS MAGNUS and really the PUP's are engaged in the building of a bridge, that is an END in and of itself and there should be NO conceptual process or mechanism where the PUBLIC is engaged in any CONDITION REFLEX or KNEEJERK reaction where questions such as: "Was it necessary?"...or "Is it the truth?"...or "Was the cost justified?" would arise!...The arrogance of it!!...NOT even HHMM! was this bold!!!

Another ploy of the MUSA PUP's is if U are associated with anything that is suggestive of-, or that could be construed as a protest against the Government/PUP's...and U are caught within a 3-MILE radius of any UDP...then your cause becomes NULL and VOID...because it is POLITICAL...and ostensibly the only political opposition should come from the UDP's..and not JOHN Q PUBLIC!!!...I mean how ridiculous can these guys get!!!...It occurs to me that IGNORANCE is the KEY in the MUSA Game Plan of PERPETUAL DOMINANCE of the political landscape of the JEWEL...Nobody wants U or I to reflect upon just what Politics is...because at its very fundamental...it is defined as the articulation and enactment of POLICY...Ostensibly Public Policy...which means things that affects U and I!!!...Thus although one of the fundamentals of Good Governance is Public Involvement...when it comes to issues which would affect the existence and quality of life of U and I, WE should not be involved with THIS, according to the PUP VIEW of the world, because WE may find ourselves rubbing elbows with a UDP?!?!

When reduced to its LCM, we do realize that the AIRWAVES do become choked up with this SIC redition of reality from time to time...Check for example in the immediate wake of the PROTEST organized by the Association of Concerned Belizeans the WUB was inundated with strategic callers from the BLUE end of the spectrum informing that the event was suspect since Lois Young Barrow was the Wife of the Leader of the Opposition and RED SHIRTED UDP was spotted in the march...NO mention of the issue at hand, as in the conflict of interest position of KIETH ARNOLD, or the acquisition of another substantial chunk of BTL by the apparently insatiable BRIT, his Lordship!!!...Note also that among the myriad calls to the WUB last Monday, no mention of the SIZE of the CROWD in the Protest March...or indeed the composition of the crowd...or indeed the fact that the RENT A CROWD formulae of the PUP was not applied to mobilize the protestors!!!

Another signature of the new MUSA PUP is THE BLAME GAME where either the VICTIMS themselves are blamed for the crime being perpetuated against them, or some collateral player is being placed in the role of SATAN...The cheif purveyor of this strategy is BILL of the KREMANDALA show fame...In his latest insult to the intelligence of anything above the level of earth worms, BILL was saying in his 'parting shot' on the show that "the IMF had Belize suffering under its unjust policy"...NO mention of the myraid misdeed of the PUP's that got us where WE R in the first place and that has the IMF in a STAND-BY emanating from the rotund one...BILL's case is not one of SELECTIVE AMNESIA where HE conveniently remembers what he wants to remember, and forgets what he wants to forget...Neither is it one of IDIOCY...au contraire...BILL is extremely intelligent and well read...What BILL is, is a Political IDIOT SAVANT...where dispite evidence and opinons to the contrary, he is stuck in a monocular mode of AVOIDING THE OBVIOUS at all cost...and it is not only that he wants U to beleive that he knows what he is saying as much as he wants U to beleive, despite evidence and experience to the contrary, what he is saying!!!

As much as I try to cerebrate the possibility...I cannot rationalize how ONE could LOVE Belize and be a PUP at the same time...These are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE events...They cannot ocurr in tandem...they cannot exist in parallel in space and time...it is anathema to the known universe...there is functionally ZERO DEGREES OF FREEDOM here!!!
