GUNS IN THE STREETS OF BELIZE
Can anybody explain to me how so many people have guns (unlicensed) in the streets of Belize.
It seems that everyone is packing unlicensed heat in Belize except the hard working business people, who dont want to own an unlicensed gun because of the repurcutions, and they don't pursue to get a license because it is soooo difficult to get a license in Belize, I know it took me over a year to get mine when i first acquired my license, and i am a prominent business owner.
I mean seriously, do the cops have source as to where these guns are funneling from to getting in people, who seemingly, are eager to use them? I have had a license for around 3 years and have never ever pulled in on anyone, i have gotten in problems etc. and it was the last thing on my mind, i forgot i even had it on me.
I mean seriously, even the media is taking all the shootings in Belize City as an every day part of life now, they seem to be saying, "Oh well, this is what happens in Belize City, what can we do?"
Oh, and it seems that these shootings are isolated to Southside Belize City, where from what i hear everyone knows everyone, so it seems that today someone get shot, and next week their friend retaliate and so on and so forth, for drugs, beef, and now it seems over woman (damn i thought City had enough women, i certainly keep busy when i visit - sorry if a juk anybody gyal, but hey), mmhmm, back to topic.
These guns can't be coming out of thin air, there has to be someone who has access to guns, a gun dealer or a cop or BDF or someone like that selling these guns on the streets.
everything I touch I spoil
every one has been very silent about our belizeans from the east who not only deal with a lot of fake stuff but with drugs and guns in the CFZ. the CFZ is a haven for illegal activities, security is cheap and with good connections you are untouchable. Many mexicans as pointed out are bosses in our country. corruption is at its highest peak.
we have been used as mules and will always sell cheaply to the mexicans and colombians. In mexico the government declared the war to drug traffickers and the results are in the number of policemen killed every day by the ZETAS who originate from guatemalas kaibils.
we need to do a clean up but then human rights people get activated and we get scared.
the guns also come in through the waters accompanying the precious white lady. the guns are left to the locals next thing your neigbour is shot.
the antidrug unit is a joke, the coast guard worst, so the ones that should be policing are not loyal we end up in square one.....

Ok armageddon
you asked for my opinion, so i'll give it:
2 reasons:
Drug Trade
Open Borders
Drug Trade:
Belize is a mini-warehouse for coke, it is temporarily stored in belize till it can be delivered to the central warehouse(mexico). Plus colombians sometimes drop off coke in the south and hire and arm local gangs to deliver it to the north or store it until they are ready for delivery. Brilliant if you ask me, they approach a local thug and tell him "hey i'll GIVE you 100 kilos, with one catch, you have to SELL it back to me and I'll only buy it back from you at your northern border area". So the thugs now have to transport and warehouse the drugs till the Colombians are ready to buy it back and on top of that the colombians set the local price since they are buyers and if you cross them your ass is grass (cause you are in the bridge, the the the bridge... Just had to add some hip hop to it since people will blame hip hop too...)
Open Borders:
This ties in perfectly with reason number 1, Our neighbor to the west up to recently was locked in a civil war, the left was supplied with AK-47's and the right were supplied with M-16's, this civil war has died down but there are a whole heap of disgruntled right wing paramilitary groups that are pissed off over the deal the Guatemalan gov. cut with the left. On top of that we have an active revolt just north west of us in Chiapas Mexico, not too sure how that affects the gun trade. But guns and ammo buried all over Guatemala and for sure its all for sale.
So my friend it all goes back to our government, instead of stealing millions we should have been building up our security forces with those millions, at the end of the day the fish rots from the head...
It amazes me that brainiacs like Mreh and Road Fly
who seem to have so much insight, hasn't touched this subject yet, i guess these kids blowing each other away is not political enough for these guys, or anyone as a matter of fact.
I mean you talk about drugs, you get about 3 or 4 comments you talk about guns and these kids blowing each other away and you get a little more, but you talk about Dean Barrow, Moya, Musa, Fundsteka etc... my God, you get about 3 or 4 people on here blowing up the fucking site with comments and insights and facts and....

can bring a gun into the country. just put it enna you vehcile when you cross the border. you noh even have to hide it. I'm not sure what kinda of check these customs officers do at the borders.
They just open your door, look on the seat, open the trunk look in there, close it. they no even touch anything, move anything. thats one senerio.
