Earthquake

its 2:35 am. the date is Thursday, May 28th 2009, and i was just awakened by the feel of violent tremors that seems to have affected the entire country of Belize and perhaps other Central American countries and Mexico.
i actUALLY FELL...
...asleep in my SOFA after d LAKERS Games with TV watching me ONLY 2 b SHAKEN out of DREAMLAND by d SHAKIN and d QUAKIN...WHEN i gained my feet MUST have been at d PINNACLE because my PARLOR seem 2 b rocking line a VIOLENT SEA under a FORCE 10 gale!!!
My FIRST THOUGHTS were if it gets any WORSE than this IT canNOT b a TREMOUR it has 2 b a fullFLEDGED EARTH QUAKE...My SECODN thought was "i have 2 get my FAMILY out of this HOUSE"...As i was going thru this mental GYMNASTICS my WIFE staggered thru d corridor from d BED ROOM holding her CHEST saying she felt BAD...i was like "Can u belive it, an eQUAKE backed up by a HEART ATTACK!?!?".
AFTER fetching my WIFEs bloodPRESSURE PILLz and flicking on LOVE-FM and hearing DONOVAN saying "Guatemala or Honduras or Mexico get IT - i wah monitor BBC"; i told her IF it has hit at SEA we could b in trouble with a TSUMANI or TIDAL WAVE...This of course was conFIRMED by NBC i believe who had ONE of their REPORTERs vacationing in HONDURAS and whom had passed some info in 2 d STUDIO!!!
WHAT went thru my mind at this POINT was that NEMO had NO response 4 this!!!...It was NOT like d RENE & RAMON vigil at d THREAT of a HURRICANE...At that pt i drove my CAR on d street and told my WIFE & Daughter "Grab a cpl things and at d FIRST sign of an approaching TIDAL WAVE well head up to Lady VILLE"!!!
What STRUCK me was that i did not kNOW who first started d MYTH that bze was IMMUNE 2 EARTH QUAKE but it had 2 STOP...We canNOT conTINUE 2 operate from a position of IGNORANCE...eQUAKES r really a function of d MOVEMENT of d giant TECTONIC PLATES which makes up the earths CRUST...A geological MAP of the northwestern Caribbean will show that Belize is just a little distance off the southWESTERN end of d CAYMAN TRENCH.
d CAYMAN TRENCH is in fact a protion of d dividing line between the Caribbean TECTONIC PLATE and the North American Tectonic Plate...As d Caribbean TcPl moves southeast and d northAMERICAN TcPL moves northWEST d articulation or butting and thrusting of these plates creates stress & strains which is reLEASED as energy in the form of TREMORS and QUAKES...THUS d somewhat unprecedented and unSETTLING xPRNC in d early 'a.m.' of THURS can b understood in d conTXT of PLATE TECTONICS and d THOUGHT that BZE was/is imMUNE 2 eQUAKE can b exPUNGED!!!
