MS almost lost a customer.

Well not really, just too expensive to switch.

I started getting a "you may be a victim of counterfeit software" it goes on to say that the version of XP that I am running might not be genuine. Pissed me off because:

1. It came with my IBM ThinkPad, so I am pretty sure it’s genuine.
2. Certain services became inactive, example I couldn't control my firewall anymore.
3. Microsoft is not budging on it, 3 of the 5 solutions offered has the word 'purchase' in it.
4. I make a living off my computer.

The funny thing is when I am connected to my office network it works fine, but if I turn off synchronization and try to work from home with synchronization being disabled I run into this problem.

I understand that MS has the right to protect its product and all these bad guys from the Corozal Free Zone are selling counterfeit shit, hahaha, but fuck at least test your software before you release such an invasive update.

Apparently, the latest patches automatically installs this program that checks your lic. etc...

This morning I was thinking maybe I can get even and switch, but switch to what?
Even Novell working with Microsoft now, and even if I considered a switch it wouldn’t make sense since it would cost me out the ass to switch....

Just fucked up my whole day up, but I am still a MS fan...
