Cabinet terminates arrangement between GOB and BELIPO

At the Cabinet meeting held today, the Prime Minister proposed and the Cabinet decided to end the arrangement between the Government of Belize and the Belize Intellectual Property Office (BELIPO) under which BELIPO operated the Companies and Corporate Affairs Registry and the Intellectual Property Office.
On the instructions of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance is taking steps to ensure that there is a full refund of stamp duty paid to the Registry in connection with the sale by the Government of BTL shares to E-COM Ltd and Sunshine Holdings Ltd.
The Ministry has also written to the Company to convey the decision of Cabinet and will be taking immediate steps to end the arrangement in keeping with this decision.

this was only possible because both parties to the contract agreed to it.
This is what we truly need in Belize, more conscious and political savy voters. We need to watch this government and remind them that we are are pitbulls just waiting to rip there balls off.
Also Cabinet didn't terminate shit, it had to have been a mutual agreement between the 2 parties to the contract. I figure Mr. Barrow's reputation was on the line, he has always been known as a fair and respectable professional, I guess his character is worth more than 2 mill. I am glad to see he made an about turn on this issue.

I guess you could include BTL in this as well.

how much we (tax payers) will have to come up with to pay off this contract.
I dont believe its just going to be terminated out of good will.
