The truth behind the Cuello brothers dispute
The company Cuello's Distillery ltd. was own and managed by two brothers Mr.Osvaldo Cuello and Mr.Froylan {Hill} Cuello in the mid 80's. At that time every thing was running to perfection. The business grew so big that Mr.Froylan Cuello recommended that company should impliment a certified accouting system. That is when the company got Mr. LLoyld A. Smith, he put an accounting system. That is when Cuello"s Distillery ltd. started doing real good. A company has rules and regulations. That was when Mr. Osvaldo started to retaliate, since his free access to finance wasn't available. Mr.Osvaldo told Mr. Froylan to get rid of the accountant. Mr.Froylan told Mr.Osvaldo that he did not see nothing wrong with the account & the accounting system due to the amount of savings they had in the banks. That got Mr.Osvaldo mad, becuase any of their request & signiture were good at any bank. That is when he acquired an overdraft on the company's money in the early 90's. He took that money and established a rum company in both his sons names, L & R Liqour(Luis & Raul Cuello). After getting the money he stopped participating in the company's affairs. so I must say that when Caribbean Rum won in 1994-95 Mr. Osvaldo was no longer active with the company. When Mr. osvaldo completed L&R Liqours is when he applied the pressure(court) on his brother. I personally think that Mr.Osvaldo was very unfair with his younger brother becuase all the older heads in Orange Walk Town know that Mr.Froylan is the one who worked his heart out for this company, but remember what goes around comes around. May the late Mr. Froylan Atilano Cuello rest in peace. The ones that knew Mr Froylan knows that the country of Belize had a great lost especially Orange Walk Town.
do it right
that poll that is out should be made by categories like white rum /gold rum/brandy or something like that.
know the facts
CUELLO'S DISTILLERY is still owned by the sons of the late Froylan {HILL} Cuello and continue to be the leading rum producers of belize. All the formula's for the product are still original from when they began to produce the high quality rum.Caribbean rum is world reknown for its distinct quality and taste.Caribbean rum was sent two cosecutive years to the caribbean taste and quality rum fest held in Trinidad and Tobago in 1994&1995.The first year the rum came in second overall in its categoryand the second year the rum came in FIRST overall and brought home the prestigous award.Cuello's distillery is only under cooperate recievership due to Osvaldo Cuello. The brother of the late Froylan. He took money from Cuello's Distillery and went on his own with old master. He then took cuello's distillery to court for his share of the company which is being payed to him.The company is still owned by the benificeries of Mr.Froylan Atilano Cuello. The quality of no other rum produced in belize compared to the unique taste and quality of Cuello's fine liqours. If any body wanna say oldmasteris the original, why haven't that rum brought home some type of prize.Caribbean rum will continue being #1 in belize and the Caribbean.
i no drink but i swalla!!!
big up to one barrel!!!! the best becuz my friend get messed up with.
Not really my thing
I voted for Caribbean Rum because I support the original Cuello Bros. especially Mr. Cheezy (God rest his soul). We were best buds back in the days. I don't drink the rum, it's not really my thing. Minister Fonseca and I drink the finer things like Blue & Black Label, Jack Daniels, Remy Martin, and Cognac. Since it's the weekend, we're in my office having some now. While you people drink your Caribbean, we'll be hanging with Johnnie. Have a good weekend my people.
Yours Truly, The Prime Minister
Bunch of drunkards . .!
For the record, the entire San Pedro team (save one member who does not drink at all) are a bunch of drunkards. The female dart champion you speak of was completely stoned so we let's not go there. No disrespect to her though, everyone has their good and bad days. Yours truly came in 2nd last year in the female competition and my fellow Poison Arrow team members placed 1st and 3rd. By the way, in the ladies doubles competition, our ladies remain undefeated, and yes we beat said female national champ too!
Interestingly, one of the San Pedro team members mentioned that it cost him $500.00 to go to the last Benque tournament. Why so we wonder? Because he and his team mate needed to consume at least a crate of beer each. Yes, the Poison Arrow crew are no saints but get it right- San Pedro did not beat us because of liquor!
"It pays 2 b fly!"
maybe thats why
Maybe that is why San Pedro kick unu ass and have the National Female Dart Champion!!
It IS as bad as you think, and they ARE out to get you.
Loyal to Caribbean!
The Poison Arrow Dart Team is working hard to ensure that the doors of Cuellos remain open by consuming at least 2 quarts of Caribbean on practice nights. We had an experiment to find out what would finish first- us or the Caribbean, well the empty bottles of Caribbean answer that!
"It pays 2 b fly!"
barrel da di thing
but di headache afta real bad.
Caribbean was the best at one
Caribbean was the best at one time. And owned by the Cuello Brothers. The brothers had a disagreement, split ways and hence - Cuello's distillery and L&R Liquors/Old Master was born. Now Caribbean is mass produced with poor quality - your cocacola may be disguising the terrible quality. The original "chemist-mixer" of Caribbean rum are now the owners of Old Master rums - L&R liquors. thus, Old Master although the new kid on the block, retains the original Caribbean Rum Tradition & secret knowhow. Ceullo's Distillery was taken over by the other brother's sons and we now know the history - Chapter 11 - Bankruptcy; run now by Mark Hulse and Cedric Flowers. Old Master only needs to work on their Marketing and Distribution and possibly export market. Look at Jamaican Appleton rum - one of the best selling rums in the world. the mexicans love it bad, bad, bad!!! Now, One-Barrel does invest in marketing and it isn't such a bad rum. Buy Belizean - support Belizeans.!!!
It IS as bad as you think, and they ARE out to get you.
