Boarder (Artificial)
Submitted by Patriot on Fri, 2010-01-22 15:47. GeneralOur Border Artificial!!! Why didn't you say so before? why have our brave men and women patroling our border if its artificial? this is what happens when you send incompetent people to represent the country and just like to open their mouths to be heard.
this minister just went to a meeting heard a word that he liked and used to slander our national integrity in the world domain. My people our border exist and i am prepared to die for my country. This small but precious piece of land is home and just like you would not let a thief come to your house and take whats your we should no allow the Guatemalans or anybody for that sake to take what is rightfully our.
What happen to the Tilapia Farms???
Submitted by Patriot on Fri, 2010-01-22 14:52. GeneralWell its been a long time since we have heard anything of tilapia. The UDP Government made a big issue of the few potholes they were building for small farmers and using some projects such as the Belriv one ( PUP started it) to beat their drums.
Its Been nearly two years since they are in office and what is there to show. I have information that there are only 13.5 acres of tilapia ponds built and more that 50% are not producing. yet the Ministry of Agriculture has not been able to indentify a viable market for the product. (Mena group has 150 acres)
The ministry of agriculture had recieved financing under capital expenditures to improve the aquaculture (tilapia farming) but up to date the minister has spent most of the money in his constituency. This Hill billy farmer of a minister does not listen to advise. he build a pond to which water had to be ferried by truck loads to fill it up . WHat is the sense behind this.
Sports and Crime
Submitted by Patriot on Tue, 2009-01-13 14:49. SportsCrime is the topic of the day in all our districts. Young men shooting other young men over "turf Beef' or young men committing robbries to maintain their drug habits are becoming all to casual for Belize. The Government invests to little in youth development programs. this does not only mean the political show offs that are done prior to elections. i mean meaninful sporting events.
Our stadiums are in disgusting conditions, over grown by bushes, seats all broken, graphity all over the walls, poor lighting, etc.... and no sporting equipment.
I enjoy watching football on the television staduims full to capacity. 20-30 thousand people each supporting their team and i just hope that one day we can do the same in Belize. Our youths are out playing in torn up uniforms and torn shoes. the talented ones never make it to school because they dont have the resource. When they are discovered by "CHIMILIO" they are exploited for his own benefit. Dont let that staduim lie to you. There is no one to safeguard the benefits of our young atletes.
Belize da Fu we and only fu we Belizean
Submitted by Patriot on Tue, 2009-01-13 14:36. PoliticsMy friends what is happening with the Belize/Guatemala issue. Why does our goverment tolerate that guatemalan incurssion continue in our land without making those who violate our boarders be punished. The structure at Jalacte should be demolished immediately without even having to Consult with the OAS. This is Belize! let Belize Govern Belize and The USA Govern their country.
Belize has to stop entertianing Guatemala claim. They have no Claim! final!
At the ICJ we have nothing to win; we stand to loose large percentage of our country if not all. Our whimpy politician are just finding the easy way out.
Transportation in Belize
Submitted by Patriot on Wed, 2008-10-01 11:08. GeneralWe are constantly faced with new and difficult challenges in our lives and its a constant struggle to make ends meet. Transportation is becoming more and more expensive due to the increase of fuel prices and the greed of some bus operators. It is time for the government to revamp the entire transportation industry. For instance some buses charge 4.00 from Orange Walk to Belize City Whilst others charge 5.00 this is a whold dollar more. and one has to go all packed up like sardines.
I have heard the Chief Transport Officer speaking about reorganizing and rescheduling bus runs. This will not work if a study of the peak rush hours is not made. For instance bus that run from 5:30 to 7:00 in the morning coming from corozal and orange walk to Belize City are packed with standees more buses need to be made avialable for these runs. There is one bus that most of the time is empty at this time (venus/gilharry bus) this is becuase the buses are so unreliable since they are always staying on the road side. Plus when it brokes down the customer has to pay another bus to get to thier destination( no Refund).
