Another baby has died because of lack of medical attention from the PG hospital. An interesting similarity is that again, the mother of the cjild is a Mayan. I am a Black man and I have devised the theory that these infant deaths are a result of some form of racial discrimination or reverse racism if you want to call it. I hope that these so called shit holes of nurses down South are held responsible and that Belizeans get to know their names and faces so that we all know who the baby killers are and so that they cannot get any ko in Belize. We like to say that Belizeans are up to every job and that we should keep as many jobs as we can in Bleizean hands. My thought today is that maybe it is time we cleared out PG hospital and got some Cuban nurses and doctors who are willing to work in Belize before the Castro brothers lose power in Cuba and there are no more arrangements for medical professionals.
PS I hate these heartless piece of worthless cow dung who work at the PG hospital because they have brought their personal grievances and stereotypes against a certain people to their profession and babies lives are the price of this calamity.

U guys have a peoblem acceppting the fact that there is racial discrimination in Belize. Dont you guys rememebr when we were all kids and ALL of us use to say Spanish dis Panya dat Paisa dis Gwalla Gwallla di Gwalla Gwalla dat. U guys bar so naive because the discrimination is even more against di li Maya. Unnu know how many school kids call deh Maya Pok A Tok and other less friendly names.U guys watched the news and saw how all the complainant mothers looked like. They were not Waikas, Whiote Spanish, Garifuna or Creole. They were all wat we used to call wen I was a kid village spanish and Maya. The problem at PG hospital is that the nurses and doctors do not go by their oath of the profession whichh is to treat and help all persons regardless of their color, creed, race or nationality. PG Hospital Crisis are a culmination of the blind eye we have been giving to the discrimination in Belize. Just wait when u guys see the photos of the nurses/doctors...I bet u none a dem were so called village spanish or maya.

I wouldn't rule out racism, but the problem does not only rest with that. PG and Toledo is a region that is still rooted in the past. Culture and Tradition (including the prejudices of old) still exist in a way. Not as bad as it used to be, but it is there. I have worked and lived shortly there, and from what I was able to observe, Mayans are considered third rate citizens. It is 'easier' to speak rudely to a mayan, especially a mayan woman, because they are not raucous. They will just put down their head and disappear, and no one will know of any injustice. We are just finding out about these issues, because one woman decided to make a difference and lift her voice.
However, the other serious issue is the health system in our country. The most basic element of any public system is the human resources. If you look around, most doctors are foreigners, either cubans or nigerians. Many nurses are also from abroad. Our own belizean doctors prefer to conduct private practice because it is much more profitable. If this government is serious about improving health care, they should try to somehow incorporate belizean doctors in our public health care system. That is what I hope my tax money is going towards: the leaders coming up with plausible and imaginative solutions. I am tired of hearing all the excuses as to why things fail whenever a NATIONAL TRAGEDY happens. They never say how they are going to fix it and then actually DO IT.
Funny how the minister has gone on leave, while this shameless incidents are taking place. I guess the two dead mayan babies are not such a serious issue.
